Project: INNOVATIVE TRAINING METHODOLOGIES FOR TRANSPORT TRAINERS

Project: ES/09/LLP-LdV/TOI/149045 IMNET: INNOVATIVE TRAINING METHODOLOGIES FOR TRANSPORT TRAINERS

In 2003, the European Parliament and the Council adopted Directive 2003/59/EC on the initial qualification and periodic training of drivers of certain road vehicles for the carriage of goods or passengers which establishes that drivers must hold and initial qualification and undergo periodic training in order to obtain a certificate of professional competence which ensures that the driver is of a standard to have access and to carry out the activity of driving.

The INMETT Project supports the realization of the directive and aims at promoting the implementation of innovative training methodologies in transport training in order to improve the learning process and to facilitate transport workers the access to training.

INMETT aims to create a Virtual Learning Community (VLC) that will provide training for transport trainers as a way to update their knowledge and skills on the management of e-learning courses, improving this way ICT based learning activities. It will transfer the results obtained from ELF LdV Project which aims at developing a systematic approach to VET practices of on-line tutors basing on a research of their individual training needs and contributing to the development of innovative and flexible instruments for the improvement of the quality of training.

For the implementation of INMETT project’s objectives is created a team with participants from 6 EU countries: Spain, United Kingdom, Greece, Italy, Lithuania and Bulgaria in the frame work of development of professional training in EU. Bulgarian partner is the Todor Kableshkov University of Transport, Sofia. As a result, INMETT expects to contribute to the updating of the knowledge of transport trainers on e-learning courses management.
