Days of International Activities at the University of Transport

It was for the first time that during the week from 12 to 16 April 2010 the Todor Kableshkov University of Transport organized Days of International Activities initiated by the Erasmus Center and the Functional Dean’s Office for International Students, PhD Students and Trainees.

The program included: Information Day on Erasmus Programme; a presentation of the University of Zilina (Slovak Republic) and Faculty of Electrical Engineering and a lecture of the visiting Erasmus teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr Maria Franekova; a meeting of former outgoing Erasmus students, incoming Erasmus students and international students at the University of Transport.

Within the days there were two consultations on how to develop projects for participation in the Open call for pre-proposals within the FP7 project TransBonus as a continuation of the Idea Generation Event held on 19 March 2010. The discussions on new project ideas were attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr Maria Franekova and Nedjelko Spilek, a part time PhD student at the University of Transport from Croatia. The tree-party conversations set the beginning of joint developments that will include participation of PhD students from the academic units.

The visit to the National Museum of History organized especially for the Erasmus and international students was the most attractive event. Besides the constant exposition, the students managed to see the exhibition of the Bulgarian cinematography where they were given a possibility to wear clothes and attributes of some characters from popular Bulgarian movies.
