Dissertation Defence of a PhD student from Croatia

On 9 May 2014 the Todor Kableshkov University of Transport (VTU) hosted the dissertation defence for awarding an educational and scientific degree of “Doctor” in area of higher education 5. “Engineering Sciences”, professional field 5.5 “Transport, Shipping and Aviation,” (“Transport Ssystems and Transport Technologies"/. The dissertation entitled "Technological Design and Development of Efficient Intermodal Transport Chains" was developed by Nedjeljko Spilek, MSc, a PhD student from Croatia at the Department of Technology, Organization and Management at the VTU with Scientific Supervisor Assoc Prof. Kiril Stanev Karagyozov and Scientific Advisor Prof. Dr Tomislav Josip Mlinaric from the Faculty of Transport Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia.

The defence was attended by Her Excellence Ljerka Alajbeg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Croatia, Prof. DSc Petar Kolev, Rector of the VTU, Assoc. Prof. Dr Daniela Todorova – Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities, Assoc. Prof. Dr Rumen Uluchev, Vice-Rector for Education.
After the defense there was a meeting with Her Excellency Ljerka Alaybeg who addressed the participants and underlined the opportunities of cooperation in education and transport between Croatia and Bulgaria as EU member states. The VTU’s representatives of expressed their willingness to be included as partners in the future joint projects.
The defensive of the PhD student from Croatia and the visit of the Ambassador of the country in Bulgaria the University of Transport celebrated Europe Day.
