Day of Patron at Todor Kableshkov University of Transport

On 13 January 2012 it became 161 years from the birth of Todor Kableshkov, the Patron of the University of Transport in Sofia. The celebration took place in front of the monument of the patron in the university campus. Prof. Petar Kolev, DSc, Rector of the University of Transport, had a greeting speech. Addressing the academic society, he underlined the role and importance of the hero from April uprising for our country historical development. He stressed the priorities of the university policy during the past 2011. Prof. Kolev wished his colleagues successful and fruitful 2012 in professional and personal aspect. Flowers and wreaths were laid to the monuments of Todor Kableshkov in the university campus and Tsar Boris Garden in respect to the life and deeds of the patron. Guests at the ceremony were representatives from partner organizations and companies. Among them were: Mr. Yavor Notev – Deputy Chairperson of Legal Affairs Committee and Mrs. Snezhana Dukova – member of Education, Science, Children, Youths and Sports Committee at National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.
During the event were given Rector’s awards:
- Certificate for achievements in academic and research activity, sandglass and financial award of BGN 200 to Eng. Ilyan Trifonov from Transportation Engineering Programme for report, entitled “Problems in legislation, maintenance and new technologies for improving Bulgarian railways level crossing safety”, presented at student workshop “Railways Level Crossing Safety”, held on 19 April, 2011 at Todor Kableshkov University of Transport. The event was covered by the specialized weekly newspapers “Stroitel” and “Stroitelstvo Gradat”
- Certificate for achievements in academic and research activity, statuette and financial award of BGN 400 to the team of students: Kornelia Genadieva, Nelly Torolova, Maria Mircheva and Nazife Karaboyok from Transport Economics Programme with supervisor assoc. prof. Antoaneta Kirova, PhD for business project “Opening of gallery for alternative arts in the old town of Plovdiv”, presented at student forum “Entrepreneurship in competitive environment”.
- Certificate for achievements in academic and research activity, statuette and financial award of BGN 400 to the team of students: Deniz Naymizova, Maria Ivanova, Nikola Stoylov, Tzvetan Yanakiev from Transport Economics Programme with supervisor assoc. prof. Antoaneta Kirova, PhD for business project “Sports Dances Club”, presented at student forum “Entrepreneurship in competitive environment”.
- Certificate for achievements in academic and research activity, statuette and financial award of BGN 400 to the team: chief assist. Petyo Piskulev, Eng. Boris Mihaylov, Georgi Stoychev, Georgi Kanchev, Dimitar Moloselski, Mirena Miteva, Mihail Dimitrov, Nikolay Nikolov from Power Engineering and Electrical Equipment Programme with supervisor assoc. prof. Ivan Petrov, PhD for the project “Designing and Construction of Hydrogen Fuel System and Energy Efficient Indoor and Outdoor Lighting Power Supply in Todor Kableshkov University of Transport School Building”
- Diploma for nomination in the Rector’s Award competition for academic and research activity of the team of students: Tzvetelina Todorova, Paulina Krastanova, Radostina Vassileva, Mariela Stefanova from Transport Economics Programme for business project “Virtual Flower Shop”
